Dear Stuart Families,
It’s hard to believe that the end of another school year is upon us. As we pre-pare for the final days, I wanted to let you know about a couple of exciting events. We will be honoring all of our eighth grade students at a school-wide awards assembly being held on Thursday, May 23. The assembly will begin at 8:00am. During this as-sembly we will be giving academic awards for eighth grade students only. Current sixth and seventh grade students will receive their awards in the mail. Although we don’t do a formal continuation ceremony, we will be presenting eighth grade students with middle school completion certificates. We encourage all eighth grade families to attend. Please remember that we will not be providing awards to students who have outstanding fees or fines. These will need to be cleared up before we can give stu-dents their awards.
We will also hold an eighth grade breakfast sponsored by our Elective Depart-ment. Unfortunately we don’t have the space to extend an invite to our families and therefore this event will be held for our eighth grade students only. This year we will bid a “farewell” to our second group of students that have been at Stuart since we first opened our doors in 2009. We will miss every single one of them and wish them all the best in the future. We hope you can join us for this joyous occasion.
We are currently working on finalizing the master schedule for the 2013-2014 school-year. Our hope is that we will be able to place all students in the appropriate classes by the middle of June. Having said that, I expect some fluctuations to occur based on assessment data that is due back to us in mid-July. Hence, next year’s stu-dents will not be given final schedules until the first full day of school.
Before too long we will have determined our student registration process for next year and will be sending home our summer mailer. Those information letters should arrive at your home no later than July 8, 2013. We will also have it posted to our website should you not receive the mailer for some reason. Currently we are scheduled to hold registration on July 24-25. Our process will look very much the same as last year with students receiving their transportation routes, paying out-standing fines and fees, taking school pictures, signing up for fall athletics, etc.
Thank you so much for your continued dedication and support. It has been an honor to serve you all during this school year. As the year draws to an end, please be certain to contact us regarding any of your student’s needs. I wish you and your fami-ly a most-successful end of the school year and a very fulfilling summer!
Respectfully,
Martin Pearson
